Mini husky & pomsky Faq

These breeds have a loveable, friendly, outgoing disposition. There is a huge variety of coat color and markings on the head. A Mini Husky’s color and appearance will be comparable to a Husky.  A true Pomsky is a 50-50 mix of Siberian Husky and Pomeranian. Appearance, color, and disposition can vary much more with a Pomsky than a Mini Husky. We have carefully selected both our Mini Husky and Pomsky parents for the Husky appearance and temperament.

Temperament

The Mini Husky and Pomsky are not clingy, but they love attention.  The beautiful wolf like appearance of a Husky appeals to many people, but size can be an issue.  These 2 breeds are wonderful options with a temperament and look similar to the Husky. Their even temperament, love of people and other dogs makes them ideal family members. With their Husky heritage they are born pack dogs.  These little ones enjoy being part of a family and get on well with other dogs. They don’t like being left alone for long periods of time.

Activity Requirements

Mini Huskies and Pomskies are very smart, but they also require training and exercise in order maintain good behavior.  These two small breeds enjoy long walks, hikes, jogs, and bike rides. The small size makes the beautiful Mini Husky and Pomsky breed appealing to town and apartment dwellers.

Grooming

The Mini Huskies and Pomskies are a comparatively easy dog to care for. They would generally need grooming at least twice a week to remove dead hair. Bathing requirements are minimal. These breeds usually have a double coat of hair. The underneath is a soft downy undercoat, protected by a harsh outercoat – which actually grows through the undercoat. The outercoat is water-proof and protects them from rain, snow, and dirt. The undercoat serves to provide insulation from heat and cold. Once or twice a year they will shed the undercoat and require more brushing.

Health

Mini Huskies and Pomskies can have health issues such as eye diseases, cataracts, skin problems, hip dysplasia, and hypothyroidism. To avoid disease and heartache always buy from a reputable breeder. All of our parents are Embark health tested and matched to produce puppies free from 175 genetic diseases.
